Darris Brock is an ordained minister in the Christian Church. He received his BA from Atlanta Christian College, his MAR from Emmanuel School of Religion, and studied for a New Testament Ph.D. through the Toronto School of Theology.
He is married to Lisa for more than 20 years and they have four children.
Since being at Johnson University, he has taught multiple courses including: first and second year Greek, Introduction to Biblical Languages and Tools, Hermeneutics, Old Testament Prophecy, Genesis, and Christian Theology. He is an elder and the worship leader at Lighthouse Christian Church in Powell. He also teaches and preaches on occasion.
Professor Brock established a chapter of REASONABLEFaith in Knoxville in 2011. It facilitates the study of Christian apologetics. The website has the latest information. He also assists with the Ratio Christi apologetics chapter at the University of Tennessee.
He is available for preaching and guest speaking on topics ranging from biblical-related cultural topics to the cults, the occult, and non-Christian religions. The New Age, Mormonism, Homosexuality, Evidence for the Existence of God, the New Testament text and Apologetics are just some of the areas which he can address.
